Marilyn Osborn Patterson joined Gwin Steinmetz & Baird in 2011. Ms. Osborn focuses her practice on civil litigation in a wide range of matters including healthcare defense, long term care defense, trucking litigation, and insurance defense.
Ms. Patterson graduated cum laude from the University Of Louisville Brandeis School Of Law in 2011. While a student there, Ms. Patterson was the President of the school’s Moot Court Board and a Notes Editor for the Journal of Law and Education. She was also President of the Women’s Law Caucus. In 2011, Ms. Patterson won the National Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition, being selected as the best out of eighty-nine teams. Ms. Patterson was the recipient of the Miller and Chevalier Award for excellence in oral advocacy skills and also received the highest scholastic honor for written advocacy. In addition, she received an award for the highest grade in Intellectual Property. Her article, “Instructors’ Rights to Protect Their Image: A Growing Concern in an Increasingly Digital Age” was published in the Summer 2010 edition of the Journal of Law and Education. Ms. Patterson earned her undergraduate degree in 2007 from Centre College, where she majored in History and Spanish.
