Associate

Jared L. Downs is an Associate at Gwin Steinmetz & Baird. He received his B.S. in Economics from the University of Louisville and his Juris Doctor from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

Mr. Downs devotes his practice to civil litigation defense. He spends the majority of his time in state and federal courts defending individual and corporate clients in matters including wrongful death and personal injury claims, trucking and commercial transportation claims, insurance coverage disputes, extra-contractual and bad-faith claims, and premises liability claims. Mr. Downs also donates his time to representing indigent clients in contract and commercial disputes as a part of the Legal Aid Society of Louisville's Volunteer Lawyer Program.

While in law school, Mr. Downs was an editor and published member of the Northern Kentucky Law Review and a recipient of the John Jay O-Hara Award for the highest grade in Torts I and the John T. Tomlin Award for the highest grade in Torts II. He is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is a member of both the Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations.
